BFA Antenna Tool can be used for
- computing antenna mask for used RF22 antennas and BFA beams (useful for old RFID applications where antenna mask cannot be set with an UI but must be configured manually in a configuration file) and
- Studying the performance of the BFA beams.
v1.0.0.3
Application version 1.0.0.3 can be found in attached zip file (some planned features still missing)
Follow the video link for instructions of installing and using the the application: video (anyone can view but not download)
v1.0.0.8 (latest)
Application version 1.0.0.8 can be found in attached zip file.
Includes cumulative animation mode, Times Found as a new beam quality assessment criteria and a choice of two quality metric calculation functions: average and product.
Application settings explained
- Animation mode: choose how the beams will be painted during inventory reading
- Real-time: flash beam with color representing Quality Metric of the current respective RFID read
- Cumulative: paint beam with color representing its cumulated Quality Metric value
- Quality assessment criteria: select which metric values will be used in Quality Metric (QM) calculation
- RSSI: for QM calculation, value is normalized by scaling it to 1..100% using NUR3 limits
- Phase difference: for QM calculation, absolute value of the phase is normalized by scaling it from 0 (>= 90 degrees) to 100% (0 degrees)
- Times Found: for QM calculation, value is normalized to 0..100% by comparing beam cumulated Times Found value to the greatest Times Found value of all beams. For example, if Times Found value for beam 4 is 10 and the greatest Times Found value for a beam is 50, the normalized value for beam 4 is 10/50 = 20 %
At least one quality assessment criterion must be selected to save the settings.
- Quality Metric calculation
- Average: average of normalized metric values that are selected for quality assessment
- Product: product of normalized metric values that are selected for quality assessment
