Use the included Industrial Mini-IO cable to connect the IO Connection Box to the RFID reader. If the Power LED of the IO Connection Box does not light up, you need to enable the Mini-IO port through the RFID reader’s web user interface.
Configuration through the user interface
- Log in to the RFID reader's web interface. You will need the credentials from the reader's type label.
- Select Hardware from the main menu and GPIO under it. Set the GPIO port to "GPIO-mode". This turns on the power to the Mini-IO port
- GPIO lines 1 and 2 are used as inputs and lines 3 and 4 are used as outputs. GPIO Pins sate allows you to test the operation of the outputs.
Enable/disable relay outputs
The IO box has two SPDT (single pole double throw) relay outputs that can be switched on/off from the DIP switch on the back of the box. Relays are connected to GPIO lines 3 and 4. Please note that relay control will consume 400mW per relay, which is away from the current/power usable from the 5VDC / 24VDC output (max 2W).
