Introduction
IO Connection Box is an accessory for the FR22, FR22 Lite and Sampo S3 products. It extends the IO features of the main device by offering opto-isolated inputs and outputs. In addition to the IO’s, the IO connection Box has two relays to interface with devices requiring high wattage or an open/short signal. The IO Connection Box offers a robust and flexible connection of external devices (e.g. lights, buzzers) and triggering sources (e.g. sensors, buttons). It is connected to the Industrial Mini IO port of the RFID reader via a provided cable, providing easy access to the pins of the IO port with pluggable screw terminals. The IO’s and the relays are controlled via the main device’s APIs (either via NurAPI or device’s system RPC API).

Note that FR22 IO ports I2C lines are not accessible while using the IO connection box. |

*Relay control will consume 400mW per relay, which is away from the current/power usable from the 5VDC / 24VDC output. This converts into 80mA @ 5V and 16.7mA @ 24V. |
