For user indications, the Brady EXA81 includes three LEDs at the bottom of the device and two LED
sidebars.
POWER LED
Stable Power LED indicates that the device is powered ON or OFF and if the battery charge is critically
low
Power On, Battery level ≥ 10%

Power Off
Blinking of the Power LED indicates that the sled is charging. If the charge is completed and without an
active connection, the device automatically shuts down

CONNECTION LED
Connection LED indicates the state of the USB and Bluetooth connections or if the firmware update is
taking place.
Blue, blinking slowly Device advertising for a bluetooth connection, not connected/not paired
Blue, stable Connected via Bluetooth
Blue, blinking fast Paired, no Bluetooth connection
Green, stable In use by an application via USB
Yellow In DFU (firmware update) mode
Purple Updating firmware
SCAN LED
SCAN LED indicates whether RFID or barcode reading is active or if there is a hardware failure
Stable green RFID reading is ON
Yellow Barcode reading is ON
Blinking red Hardware failure
LED BARS
LED bars have multiple indication modes depending on the device’s configurations.
Sequential blue followed by green or red Power On followed by battery level indication
Bars briefly green HID RFID reading enabled
Bars briefly blue HID Bardcode reading enabled
Bars briefly blue HID mode disabled
Four white sequential flashed Factory reset
Purple sequential flashed Firmware update ongoing
