On this page we will instruct you on how you can update your SmartReader OS from the Appcenter.

  1. Download the latest RFID Configurator (v1.8.5) or RFID Demo (v1.4.9) and install + launch it:

  2. Connect the SmartReader to the local network by using an Ethernet cable.

  3. After a while, the device appears to the RFID Configurator. Double-click the line (1), and “Open smart reader web configuration page” -button (3) appears on the application. Click the button and you will be directed to the web interface. If you don’t see the device on the list, then use a USB cable for getting IP addresses (2) from the reader.
     

  4. Copy IP address to the web browser or use “Open web configuration page” -button and log in by using the credentials found on the sticker beneath the device.

  5. After logging in, click on Software (1), App Center (2), Uncheck Applications and Plugins and you will get a list of available firmwares to install. Select the one you wish to install and click on Install (3). A pop-up will appear, click yes. The install will take a few minutes to complete.


  6. After the update has finished you will need to log in again. Enter your credentials and check that the firmware version has changed.
